Atlanta's first SoundNOW Festival

March 12, 2016 by Lowell Fuchs in Music

On April 7th, my latest work, AMERICAN BEAUTY for alto saxophone & snare drum, will be premiered by Bent Frequency's Duo Project at Atlanta's first SoundNOW Festival.  I'm honored to have my work performed by extraordinary musicians, Jan Baker and Stuart Gerber!

Atlanta's SoundNOW Festival will feature eight new music ensembles over the span of five nights.  During the festival, there will be many new works performed by local composers from the Atlanta and Southeast region.  Bent Frequency, Terminus Ensemble, Chamber Cartel, Clibber Jones Ensemble, neoPhonia, and other ensembles will be performing in various locations around the city.

Charlotte New Music Festival 2016

March 07, 2016 by Lowell Fuchs in Music

This summer, I have the wonderful opportunity to join Charlotte New Music Festival (CNMF) as the festival Intern!  The mission of CNMF is to give new and emerging composers the experience of collaborating with professional ensembles and musicians.  Over the course of the festival, composer participants have the opportunity to learn from the distinguished guest composer faculty, receive a high quality performance of their selected composition, and work with the musicians and ensembles.

Guest ensembles include Bent Frequency, Iktus Percussion, and Beo String Quartet.  While composers John Allemeier, Joel Hoffman, Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, Adam Scott Neal, Alejandro Rutty, and many others will join the guest composition faculty this summer.
